Big films like Transformers are cast out of LA or NYC however extras (if needed) and even some small roles are sometimes but not always cast locally. First find the small acting agencies that exist nearest you. Because of the growing number of film shoots in your state there's bound to be a bottom feeder agency providing some extras and small role support to the industry. I've also provided a link to the New Mexico film commission. That's another way to find out what films are shooting in the state but it's not going to do anything to help you get cast in those films.

the movies might be shooting there, but they weren't cast there. they
might get extras from there though. if you know its being shot
its already been cast more than likely. you need to be where the
interview opportunities are and have some experience and an agent.
most things are cast in L A, but they are doing the filming in
other states,as california has become too expensive to film in,
and states such as N M. are offering film co's. incentives to
come film there. you can look in your newspaper or listen to
the radio or tv for plugs about the filming. or maybe call the
radio or tv station and see if they have heard anything.
