How do you make fake glass that is movie quality?

like in macgruber when they shot the winsheld- or like notorious bastards- i know that sugar glass is an option- but it is very yellow tint- and not clear. and from the observations that i made or sugar glass- it shatters easily. and not clear. so how do i make fake- clear glass??
