When do movies usually come out in Costa Rica?

How long after the US release date are movies released in Costa Rican theatres?

I’m going to be there all summer, and the MacGruber movie comes out in the U.S. two days after I leave, and I really want to see it!

When I was there, they came out around the same time as movies in the U.S. But you’ll have to go to a theater with subtitles (subtitulos) instead of dubbed (doblado)… There are plenty of theater options in Escazu (where all the gringos live) or at the malls in San Pedro.

The movies don’t generally come out at the same time. They are usually about a month behind. When we saw Spiderman 3 in San Jose, it had been out in the US for a little. It think it varies movie by movie.

(For some reason, there are no showtimes listed today.)

In San Jose, my favorite is San Pedro Mall cine.

It depends. Some movies are released at the same time but some others are released up to 3 months after.
